Golden lion tamarin babies are very rare and important. The little monkey born at Newquay Zoo is a big step for conservation efforts. Golden lion tamarins are small, social monkeys with a reddish-gold coat that looks like a lion's mane. They are native to Brazil's Atlantic coastal forests. However, about 50 years ago, this species was almost extinct, with only less than 200 golden lion tamarins left in the wild.
