For lots of children across Scotland, the summer holidays are coming to an end, and it is time to head back to the classroom.

Some of you, including many pupils in Glasgow and Edinburgh, returned last week.

While those of you in places such as Aberdeen, Dundee, Renfrewshire, Fife, Aberdeenshire and the Scottish Borders are heading back this week.

So, if you are already back at school, how has the first week felt? And for those of you about to go back, what are you looking forward to the most?

For some of you, this year is an especially big adventure as you make the move from Primary 7 to Secondary 1, starting high school for the very first time.

New teachers, new subjects, new buildings and a new timetable can feel like a lot at first. But it is also a chance to make new friends, try new activities and learn new skills.

Did you get a timetable packed with exciting lessons? Are you looking forward to science, PE, art, music, drama, technology or something completely new?

And, maybe you can give some advice for children in other parts of the UK who still have a little longer until they're back.

In England and Wales, many schools return at the start of September, although exact dates can vary by where you live and by school.

In Northern Ireland, schools are also due to start back after the summer holiday on 1 September.
