Free Skateboards

Imagine going to school on a skateboard! In Scotland, over 1,000 primary school children are getting free skateboards and helmets. This project is run by the Scottish Borders Council and encourages kids to replace short car trips with active travel options like walking, cycling, or skateboarding.

Project Goal

Early Success

The project started in the town of Hawick and was a huge success. Now, it's being expanded to the whole Scottish Borders area. Extra funding from the Scottish Government is helping to make this happen.
