Who is Albie?
Albie‑Junior is a nine‑year‑old boy from Flintshire, Wales. He was born without a fibula, a bone in his lower leg, and had his foot removed when he was just 15 months old. Now he walks with a special prosthetic leg that looks and feels like a real one.

What is the Three Peaks Challenge?
The Three Peaks Challenge is a fun race that takes you to the highest mountains in the United Kingdom: Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) in Wales. You have to climb all three and travel between them in less than 24 hours.

Training Time
Albie and his dad, Daniel, trained for four months. They practiced walking on steep paths, climbing small hills and getting used to carrying a backpack. They also learned how to rest and drink water so they wouldn’t get tired too fast.

The Big Day
On the day of the challenge, Albie started early in the morning. He climbed Snowdon first, then went to Ben Nevis, and finished with Scafell Pike. He finished the whole trip in 22 hours and 30 minutes – a record for the youngest boy with a prosthetic leg!

What He Ate
During the climbs, Albie ate ham and cheese sandwiches cut into small squares. He also drank plenty of fluids to stay hydrated. When he needed a quick energy boost, he chewed sour sweets that gave him a burst of sugar.

Family Support
Albie’s dad was his biggest helper. He carried a small bag of snacks, kept a watch to track time, and gave Albie words of encouragement. Daniel said that his son is his “superhero” and that he has never had anyone to look up to before.

Helping Others
While climbing, Albie and his dad raised money for Holywell Town Football Club. They collected £3,085 so far, which will help the club buy new equipment and support young players.

Future Adventures
Albie hopes to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania next year. Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa, standing at 5,895 metres. Albie said he feels ready and is not nervous about the challenge.
