Great Britain’s Amy Hunt and Dina Asher‑Smith made history at the European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. They won gold in the mixed 4x100m relay and set a new European record of 39.97 seconds. Hunt became the first athlete to win four gold medals at one European Championship, winning the 100m, 200m, women’s 4x100m and the mixed relay. Dina Asher‑Smith earned her 11th medal, making her the most decorated athlete in European Championships history, beating Poland’s Irena Szewińska.
