Run, run as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm "Superman"!

A Chinese robotics company says their new robot can run faster and jump higher than any human ever has - even faster than Olympic sprinting legend and the world's fastest man, Usain Bolt!

The robot is called "Superman" and was made by Unitree, who have wowed the world before with their Kung‑Fu performing robots.

Jamaica's Usain Bolt set a new 100m world record of 9.58 seconds at the World Athletics Championships in 2009. It's still the fastest time ever run by a human!

Superman the robot is said to be able to run faster than Usain Bolt - the world record holder for both the 100m and 200m sprint.

Unitree says Superman can reach a speed of 12.66 metres per second, while Bolt's top speed during his record‑setting 100m sprint was 12.2 metres per second.

Meanwhile it can also jump to a height of 2 metres from standing.

The world record for the tallest jump from standing was set by Christopher Spell who jumped 1.7 metres in 2021.
