When spring and summer come around, butterflies are a colorful common sight. But while some species are flourishing, the numbers of other species are rapidly declining. The UK Butterfly Monitoring Scheme has been tracking 59 native species, and found that 33 have declined, while 25 have improved. Experts say one reason is the UK's warmer weather, partly caused by climate change. You can help by counting butterflies and learning about the habitats they need to survive.
