Scientists have made a surprising discovery deep beneath the surface in Italy. They found a huge pool of magma located underground in Tuscany, in the central part of the country. Experts say the size is similar to the amount found under some of the most powerful supervolcanoes around the world. This helps explain why the region has a lot of geothermal activity without any active volcanoes. The magma reservoir is about 1,440 cubic miles big and is located five to nine miles underground. Don't worry, it's not dangerous right now, but it could help us find new geothermal resources and minerals like lithium.
